I am very much disappointed in the way things are going. Most, if not all, of the remaining Starstruck girls suck. Yes, they’re “pretty” but they have no talent at all. And to make things worse, they seem to have serious attitude problems.

I recently exchanged emails with Ms. Suzette Doctolero, the Head Writer of the most successful fantaserye in local television, Encantadia. Here’s a little peek into that enviable creative brain of hers…

1) Who or what inspired you to write Encantadia?
My grandmother used to tell me bedtime stories nung bata pa ako. Lahat ay imbento. I guess she’s the reason why naging writer ako. She died a couple of years ago na pero natatandaan ko pa nga mga kwento niya. Sabi ko, i want to write one good fantasy story na di malilimutan ng mga bata tulad ng ginawa niya sa akin noon. Para sa kanya ang Encantadia.

(Though ang peg nito na pinagawa sa akin ng Gma 7 ay mula sa Maria Makiling pero kung titignan mo ang Enca – ang layo niya sa mitong iyon.
Iniba ko talaga para makarelate ang mga kids na nahuhumaling sa mga rpg games).

Another season of Americal Idol is running and spoilers and leaks are everywhere. Allegedly, another Pinoy is in the Top 24. One of 12 boys who will be judged by America. Rumors are spreading that he is just a replacement for somebody who qualified for the top 24 but quit or was forced to quit.

Last Sunday, right before the eliminations, the remaining Starstruck survivors (and the viewers, as well), had the shock of their lives when they were informed that a handful of them are going to face stiff sanctions for breaking a rule. For that, Sara Larsson was eliminated from the show. (But I think it was more than just her curiosity which “killed” her.)

Some upcoming shows on the Kapuso Network:

Captain Barbell which might have GMA’s golden boy, Richard Gutierrez, in the lead role. A bad move, IMHO, coz Captain Barbell is supposed to be a simpleton, a barrio dude and Gutierrez might not be able to effectively portray that. IMHO, Ogie Alcasid might be a good choice.
