{Due to the overwhelming clamor to include Hazel Anne Mendoza in our Battle of the Young Stars Poll, I have decided to exclude Hazel from the poll, simply because, it’s obvious she would win hands down. Thus, I am giving her a special entry in this blog… that’s all about her and nobody else.}
At age 16, Hazel Anne Mendoza is already a veteran of show business. And a loyal one at that. Since she was a tot, she was and still is a talent of the ABS-CBN Talent Center. She started her career by appearing in ABS-CBN educational shows such as Hiraya Manawari. During ABS-CBN’s 50th year celebration, she was the youngest talent awarded with the 10 years loyalty plaque.
Hazel’s break came when she was cast as Kristine Hermosa‘s timid younger sister in the ground-breaking teleserye “Pangako Sa’yo.”
She was also cast the as the conservative lass from Baguio in the hit Saturday afternoon teen show “Berkz.” In the show, Hazel was paired off with then newcomer Marc Acueza.
When Berkz ended, Hazel was kept busy with supporting roles in Kapamilya TV shows.
Her next big break came when she was cast as one of the pretty Love Princesses of the reality tv show “Qpids.” In the show, she was cast with her real life loveteam Mhyco Aquino of Anime. Their real life relationship added more kilig to the show and made thousands of viewers rally behind them. Her experience in acting and performing was showcased in the shows different loveteam challenges. Although the Mhyzel team didn’t win the grand prize, they certainly won much more than what they expected: the love and support of their throngs of fans who are certainly fanatic about them.

Hazel, along with her other Qpids castmates, was also able to show off her dancing skills in ASAP Fanatic. She still performs and hosts the show occassionally.
Her latest acting assignment is the revived golden teleserye “Gulong ng Palad.” She is once again cast as Kristine’s younger sister. But this time around, her character is much, much less timid. Which is a good proof of her versatility. And this time around, Hazel is also given much more exposure in show. She is also paired off with Mhyco in the show. Fans can hardly wait for the moment Mhyco’s character enters the story.
At 16, Hazel Anne is not only a showbiz veteran. Through the years, she has proven that she has got so much talent to show. At 16, we can only expect more good things to come from her.

last week, i couldn’t believe that Hazel wasn’t one of the nominees. I can tell ya, i was really shocked specially since there was so many nominations for her.
