I was able to watch Blue Moon, Mulawin, Ako Legal Wife and Exodus. But I still have to watch the other movies especially Enteng Kabisote 2 and Kutob.
Some notes:
First and foremost, from what I understand, Blue Moon was not even supposed to be a film fest entry and was just included as a replacement for the first film that Regal Entertainment submitted. That I believe, is unfair. It should have never happened, no ifs no buts.
Kutob director Joey Reyes already raised alarm over this, way before the movies were shown. And I agreed and still agree with his stand.
Blue Moon is a good movie. But it was not the acting nor the direction that was impressive. It was the story itself. Maybe Joel Lamangan did do a good job over Joey Reyes, but I cannot comment on that as I haven’t seen Kutob. But Lamangan and producer Lily Monteverde’s argument that Lamangan should have won since the movie won, is a faulty argument. Even in the USA Academy Awards and in other film/movie awards, the best movie is not neccessarily directed by the best director and any discerning film enthusiast knows that.
Honestly, without discrediting Reyes or any of the makers of Kutob, I believe that awards were given to Reyes and his movie to appease Reyes and alleviate protests from him. Personally, I hope he protests the illegal entry of Blue Moon into the film fest.
Annabelle Rama is angry at Monteverde because Mulawin was shut out from the competition and won a total of zero (0) awards. Personally, I think Mulawin was a good movie. But it’s not deserving of its Cinema Evaluation Board rating of “A” (but that’s another story altogether). Storywise, Blue Moon beat it. In terms of acting, Ako Legal Wife and even Blue Moon beat it. And in terms of special effects, Exodus is the stronger film.
From what I saw, I think either Dennis Trillo or John Pratts could be deserving of a Best Supporting Actor award. But since I haven’t watched EK2, I can’t really discredit Jose Manalo as the deserving winner.
Cherry Pie Picache as Best Supporting Actress. Unquestionably, YES!
Zsa Zsa Padilla as Best Actress. Maybe so. Some people contend she was OA but I think that it was required for the role and the mood of the film itself.
I think Exodus deserves all the technical awards it got, especially for sound, special effects and cinematography. In my opinion, there only two wrong things about the movie: (1) casting of the Revillas and (2) pilit na paggamit sa four elements as being represented by the four encantos, they should have left that out kasi wala man consistency sa powers nung encantos.
Sana naman yung People’s Choice Award ay may limitations. Each number should only be allowed to vote once for a certain nominee. Nagigiging unfair kasi. In the first place, dapat wala na lang ganun. Obvious naman na pine-perahan lang ang fans.
At eto na ang pinaka-kaintri-intriga sa lahat…. nanay ba talaga ni Jennylyn Mercado yung Lydia Mercado na nanalo ng cellphone among sa mga text for People’s Choice???
Kayo??? W hatchutink?

Tama lang na walang napanalunan ang Mulawin. Mas magaganda pa yung ibang episodes nila noon kesa sa movie.
