After Jackie Rice was declared as the Ultimate Female Survivor, I was kinda nervous that Marky Cielo would lose to Gian Carlos. But I was greatly relieved when Marky was declared as Ultimate Male Survivor because it assured me that he would win as the Ultimate Sole Survivor.
Although I had an inkling that GMA 7 would pick Jackie over Iwa Moto, I was still disappointed that Iwa lost. But there is really nobody else to blame but Iwa herself. She dug her own grave. Even if she was clearly more talented, she gave GMA 7 and the people the loophole to make her lose.
I was kinda taken aback when TH Louie Ignacio pointed out that the “other station” cannot claim to having the “Bad Boy ng Dancefloor.” Can somebody please, please, please enlighten me about this. I cannot recall an instance when ABS-CBN claimed to have that title.
Anyway… I hope that GMA 7 does not stage another Starstruck for another year. Hopefully, the second batch will be given enough time and opportunities to shine.
And if and when they do stage another Starstruck, sana they don’t force nicknames/tag lines on the contestants because I think that’s what made Gian lose. I do think he was talented enough to cause an upset and win over Marky. But the title “Rakista ng Iloilo” was a half-truth which only made people question his abilities. True he was a talented guitarist, but he was definitely not a rakista. GMA 7 should not have invested in the title and instead should have branded him as a multi-talented contender.
Anyhow… congratulations to the Batch 3 survivors and avengers for outshining batch 2!!!

he is soo deserving. oh my gosh. alangan naman na ung pangit na Gian na yun ang manalo. ang worst eh yung 2nd batch. diba mas pangit pa ung Cj Muere na yun. and no one else in 3rd batch are more deserving to win no. ikaw siguro ang worst jan.

Marky as the Ultimate Sole Survivor was the best decision ever made by the judges!!!!! He deserves it more than anybody else in the batch… he has the talent obvisouly – he can dance, he can sing (unlike the others who keep on chasing the notes), and his acting can be honed more.
Only the one with a REAL TALENT deserves the title of ULTIMATE SOLE SURVIVOR!

Ay, wag naman nating isali ang ethnicity ni Marky sa usapan…. let us not be prejudiced against other minority ethnic groups coz we are all the same…..Filipino pa rin naman tayo. Kahit na sabihin nating tubong Maynila o lungsod tayo, if we all try have to trace our roots, for certain, may dugong minoridad tayo. Let us not judge a person based on where he/she came from. Educated people are expected to be more receptive of other ethnic groups, I suppose.

attention, for all those who commented on why an igorot won….simply it’s just because he has the guts, talents and most of all he deserves. don’t be too judgmental, afterall igorots, tagalogs, itnegs,cebuanos and all other groups are just the same, we’re all Filipinos living in the same roof, eating the same kinds of food. who knows for those who commented lives worst that Marky is. good for Marky, he is humble enough to accept and proud to tell the truth and reality. It’s just to prove that Igorots are worth living and dying for.
