Summary of Bituing Walang Ningning Premiere Episode

Rosamia (Zsa Zsa Padilla) is a night club singer. She is secretly married to the security guard, Emilio (Tonton Gutierrez). Rosamia is pregnant but they don’t have enough money so they are forced to tell the club’s manager that they are married and Rosamia is pregnant. The manager gets angry and fires both of them. Emilio manages to get a new job at another club but Rosamia stays unemployed for the meantime. Rosamia gives birth somewhere along Pasig River. They are forced to admit the baby Emilia Rose into a hospital since she was born prematurely (I think) and her lungs are weak.

Rosamia is religious and always prays at a certain church (Baclaran yata). Emilio accompanies her and meets Doris (Ai-Ai delas Alas), a rose seller. Doris confides to Emilio that she always prays because she wants a baby of her own.

Emilio’s boss seems to be a shady character. He is nice to Emilio but he always asks him to deliver secret packages. In return he gives Emilio extra money which becomes useful when Emilia is brought to the hospital again because of bronchitis. Meanwhile, Rosamia continues singing at another bar. She is sometimes forced to bring Emilia to the bar while she works.

Rosamia is offered to work in Cebu for one month for P 20,000.00. She is hesitant to leave because she will miss Emilio and Emilia Rose. But she is forced to leave because Emilia gets sick again. While Rosamia is away, Emilio takes care of the baby and brings her to work.

One night, his boss asks him to deliver another mysterious package. He delivers the package with Emilia in tow. At the door of the bar where he is supposed to deliver the package, he sees Doris once again. The security guard prevents Emilio from entering the bar with a baby in hand so Emilio asks Doris to watch over the baby while he delivers the package inside. Unfortunately, Emilio is trapped by the police as he was delivering something illegal. Doris waits for Emilio to come out. Meanwhile, Emilio tries in vain to tell the policemen that he has to get his baby, and that he is innocent. In the end, Doris is forced to take home Emilia Rose.
