Bituing Walang Ningning 05/16/06

Doris/Adora expresses to her sister Miranda her doubt regarding Emilio’s integrity. She thinks he is only using the baby to get away from the police. She decides to adopt the baby and names her Adorina Pineda (or Dorina).

Meanwhile, Rosamia (haba ng name) confronts Emilio. She is angry at him, returns her wedding ring to him and tells him she never wants to see him again. Emilio is crushed, he is going to be transferred to Muntinlupa the next day and he still loves Rosamia.

Miranda discourages Doris from getting attached to Dorina because her real parents might find her someday. Doris notices that Dorina has a high fever and they bring her to a hospital. They find out that Dorina has bronchitis. Miranda tells Doris that it is expensive to have a sickly child but Doris is determined. She says she will do anything for Dorina.

Rosamia gets a job as a singer at a bar. She sings her first original composition and cries a bit while a montage is shown. She is seen leaving her baby with Emilio, Dorina growing up with Doris and Emilio miserable in jail. Fast forward to the future, Rosamia is still singing the same song in Funline. Lauro (Chinggoy Alonso), a recording company owner is in the audience. Lauro introduces himself to Rosamia and signs her up.

They conduct a press conference where Larry (future Dominic Ochoa) is introduced to Rosamia. Lauro tells Larry that Rosamia is the hope of their company and that they should take care of her.

Rosamia is singing on televesion while Doris and Dorina sing with her. Emilio still in jail, watches her. Rosamia is dubbed as the “Crying Diva.” Her rival, Pepita Snow the “Star of the New Century,” looks at her enviously from the side stage. She has an alalay (Amy Austria) who is in awe of Rosamia.

Miranda is pregnant and Doris thinks it’s going to be a boy. She names the baby “Bencho.” In their lugawan, there are lots of Rosamia pictures. Aling Cely with a kid in tow (future Carlo Aquino) passes by. Doris and Miranda speculate whether the kid is Aling Cely’s nephew or grandchild but they are sure that he is an orphan. Dorina gets sick again.

Doris and Miranda vow to help each other out in raising Dorina and Miranda’s future baby. Moments later, Doris and Dorina are in the hospital waiting for Miranda to deliver her child. The doctor tells Doris that the baby is a healthy girl. But Miranda is dead. She had tumors but decided to keep her baby instead of having the tumors removed. It is revealed that Doris also has tumors which prevents her from having babies. I LOVE! LOVE! LOVE the scene of Doris crying when she is by Miranda’s side. Ai-Ai delas Alas totally shines in this show.

Rosamia is having a press conference. A media person asks her who she thinks of when she cries while singing. She is stumped and can’t answer. Lauro saves her by prematurely ending the press con. Backstage, she thanks Lauro. Lauro comforts her and assures her that nobody else knows about her secret. He tells her to forget about her husband and her family and to move on. Larry peeks in and misinterprets. Young Larry is eeevil!!! {hehe}

Doris’ landlady is asking her to pay rent. She brings her inside their apartment so Dorina can’t hear them. While they are inside, Oman tries to befriend Dorina. Sungit-sungitan si Dorina. Oman tells her that she should cry. Dorina shouts at him and tells him that she doesn’t want to cry. But she ends up crying. Oman offers his handkerschief and comforts her. Galing rin ng young Dorina. Siya ba yung sa Star Circle Kid Quest??? Yung M ang start ng name?

Doris’ landlady agrees to let them stay without paying rent. Oman goes inside to inform Doris that Dorina can’t breath. Doris brings Dorina to the hospital but can’t pay the doctor. Buti na lang mabait si Doc.

The neighborhood kids are playing outside. Oman invites Dorina to come down but she can’t because she might get sick again. Dorina is sad. Doris tells Dorina that they should play jackstones. Moments later, Oman comes up to play with them. Di daw siya maglalaro sa labas kung di rin maglalaro si Dorina. Such a sweet character but the kid actor seems to be merely saying his lines with little emotion. A scene of Dorina singing and Oman dancing in the lugawan is shown. Ibig-sabihin close na sila. Gets?

Doris brings Dorina to the doctor again. The doctor tells her that what she is doing is really hard. It’s expensive to bring up a sickly child and a baby. Doris goes to the Baclaran church again to cry and pray. She asks God if she is being punished for getting Dorina. Doris is lamenting her situation outside the church while Dorina is playing. There’s another montage of Doris with Dorina and Bencho. The background is Ai-ai singing some novelty lullaby. This is such a disservice to Ai-ai. Pampasira. Di naman pangit voice niya pero to put her side by side Zsa Zsa, Angelika and Sarah only highlights her not being a good singer.

Doris brings the children somewhere. While walking Dorina asks Doris if she could sell sampaguita so she could help out with the expenses. Galit-galitan si Doris. It turns out she’s bringing the kids to Hospicio de San Jose (an orphanage). You can really see Doris struggling here. She painfully tells the nun that she should process the kids’ papers for adoption. She tells Dorina that she is only going to Cebu to work. They cry as they separate. END.
