Natalie does not want to marry the guy her dad chose so she can pursue her dreams. Her dad belittles her and tells her has no talent except for shopping and spending money. Jennylyn is surprisingly good in this scene.
Baste goes back to the travel agency to but a ticket. The travel agent tells him he should get a visa first and she she smugly tells him he might not get a visa because of his age.
Polly (Jolina Magdangal) is cleaning what appears to be her apartment. She falls asleep in her lazy boy and Tia Pusit, Mang Roger and another extra arrives. It is revealed that Polly has three jobs, as a dishwasher, a chambermaid and a labandera (?). (May mga labandera ba sa US???) But Polly still wants to get another job. The others wonder where she spends her money because she seems to be kuripot. Polly obviously does not want to tell the truth and lies that she spends money to make herself beautiful. (No comment na lang ako kasi baka magalit Jolens fans.)
Natalie is having an argument with her father again. She is supposed to be married in 3 weeks. Her ugly and super unfashionble sister teases her. Ugly and trying hard graphics of Natalie is shown. Tell me this… if Natalie is sooo fashionable and kikay, then why is her graphics alter-ego wearing an unflattering green sweater and a manang long blue skirt???
ANYWAY, Natalie emotes and sees two birds in a cage. Dinakma niya yung isa then she set it free. I don’t know what happened to the other bird. Apparently, this is some sort of metaphor, if you don’t get it, wag ka nang magtanong. OK?!
Baste is fortunate enough to get a visa. LJ’s character and Baste’s dad both seem worried while his lola is ecstatic. William Martinez manages to stand out.
Marvin (ano name ng character niya?) is preparing for a dinner date at his place. He waits, waits and waits. But his date does not arrive. He receives a call that she can’t come. Marvin is subdued and it works for him.
Baste finally leaves for NY.
The editing sucks!!! The transitions are abrupt and the story does not seem to flow smoothly. As of the moment, Jolina and Marvin seem to be supports to Jennylyn and Mark. GMA should have launched this show with a telemovie. Haba kasi ng back stories tapos 4 main characters pa na di connected yet. Or maybe they should have started with how the four met and flashbacks na lang yung back stories gaya ng sa Lost.
This show could definitely do more. So far, wala pang appearance ang fourth character: NY!

lokohan ang sinasabi nilang nag register ng 37% rating yang travelogue show ni jolina dahil if gma management thought na talagang malakas ang hatak ng show na yan, bat di nila tinapat sa bwn which also premiered on the same date? sa commercial na lang, mas madami ang bwn on its 1st 3 eps compared sa iLNY na a-apat lang, isama mo pa ang high budgeted commercial ng kutitap toothpaste! hahaha

well… for me, maganda I Luv New York.. d sya heavy drama so mas magaan panoorin..
no wonder ang taas ng ratings!!!
kanya-kanya lang nman tayo ng gusto so if you dont like I Luv New York, wag na lng manood…

kaya ko lang natatake panoorin paminsan minsan ang ilny kasi ang gwapo ni mark gabeh ang lakas lakas ng appeal pamatay..
ang oa ni jennylyn mukhang hindi na virgin, mukha na talaga cyang pokpok tlaga parang ang pangit pangit nya ngayon gus2 ko p nman cia dati nung mukhang inocent looking pa cia kaso ngayon nakakadiri parang may aids, ok lang naman si marvin at jolens kaso mukhang nawala na ang chemistry nila…. PAGING GMA, pwede bang kami nalang ni mark hahahaha
