I have been watching Bituing Walang Ningning since it started last week. I must say that ABS-CBN formed a formidable and very talented ensemble. The lead stars are great. But the people who really shine and give this show its extra glitter are the members of the supporting cast.
I was pleased to see Dominic Ochoa and Miko Palanca do very well in their respective roles. Both have managed to sufficiently get into character without being OA or TH. Carla Loren is also doing very well as the rebellious sister of Lavinia (Angelika dela Cruz). The friction between her and her mother is very well played.
The real revelation for me is Amy Austria who plays the ambitious mother of Rita (Carla) and Lavinia. She is scary indeed. She intimidates and scares without being comical.
Hopefully, the entire cast (and the crew and staff) will be able to sustain their great performances throughout the show’s entire run.

Yes, it does seem supporting characters are not just there for decoration only. Larry’s character is critical at this point to build up Lavinia.
Btw, I noticed that they’re back to using Carla Humphries, and didn’t use Carla Loren in the BWN OBB / credits. Wonder why…

I hope nico’s feelings toward dorina will change in the end. I like them together and I think they’re a good match
