Dirctor Mark Reyes posted this guess list at PEx pertaining to the cast of the upcoming show Atlantika which stars Dingdong Dantes:

4 cast members are former Encantados
2-5 cast members are former Sugo people
1 is from Mulawin
The others are new to the combination.
Some are former ABS stars.

Sino kaya???

My guesses and personal choices:
Encantados – Karylle, Iza, Alfred Vargas, Michael Roy and/or Marky Lopez
Sugo – Yayo Aguila, Paolo Contis, Chynna Ortaleza and/or Julianne Lee
Mulawin – Bianca King

Upcoming ABS-CBN Show: John and Shirley

Dolphy fans won’t miss him for long after Quizon Avenue ends in a month or so. Already in the works is a reunion sitcom for Dolphy and Maricel Soriano. Dolphy (as we all know) was one half of the popular TV tandem John en Marsha. And Maricel was Shirley, John and Marsha’s daughter. Since Nida Blanca who played Marsha has passed on, the new sitcom will now star Dolphy and Maricel. Predictably, it will be entitled John and Shirley. For Dolphy and Maricel’s sake, I hope ABS-CBN will give them a good set of writers and supporting actors. Para maging magandang-maganda ang will last as long as or long than John en Marsha and Home Along the Riles. Bert de Leon is reported to be the director of this show.

QTV 11′s Posh

When I first heard that QTV 11 was creating a youth-oriented show, I was curious. Especially when the cast described it as about the clash between socio-economic classes.

But I was turned off when I watched the first episode today. It took itself too seriously. The situations and stories are what most youth-oriented shows have already shown. There was really nothing new to it. Basically, four scholars enter an exclusive school and clash with the rich kids. It’s the rich vs the poor. The stuff teleseryes and heavy drama are made of.

ABS-CBN’s Let’s Go

ABS-CBN‘s latest youth-oriented show is different in the sense that it does not strive to be serious. It is actually a sitcom megged by comedian Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz. However, the concept is not really new. It is similar to the Korean channel Arirang‘s widely popular and successful show, Non-Stop which gained popularity even here in the Philippines.

The story is simple, a bunch of stereotyped college students, male and female, live in one dormitory. They usually hang out in the reception area / living room of the dormitory. They get into trouble and a lot of supposedly funny situations while building relationships (platonic and romantic) amongst themselves.

Watch up for the re-teaming of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo in their very own teleserye entitled Maging Sino Ka Man. Sam Milby will be joining them to form what else but a love triangle. Keanna Reeves is also in the cast.

Maging Sino Ka Man is set to start airing this July 2006.

Your Song starring Matt, Olyn, Joaqui and Brenda

First, I would just like to ask the ABS-CBN management…. WHY the hell did you give Michelle Madrigal a supporting role to these amateurs? Naku ha!!! Michelle has already proven she has talent, why demote her???

We all know we watched this episode not because of the story or its technicla aspects but because we want to know how the four Pinoy Big Brother Teens fared.

Olyn did ok except for her voice. She was too shrill and whiny.

Matt gave the best performance. He seemed like a professional.

Brenda was also good but she did not fit her role well. Pero ang ganda niya kanina ha.

Joaqui surprised me. Not because he was good but because he exceeded my low expectations. He was not bad but it was obvious that he is not used to acting he seemed like he was only spurting out memorized lines.

All in all the episode was ok, not bad but forgettable.

ABS-CBN’s U Can Dance

U Can Dance

My first impression of U Can Dance: It’s an imitation of ABC 5′s Shall We Dance which is an imitation of the US show Dancing with the Stars.

Yes, U Can Dance is an imitation but with a few tweaks and additions. Instead of just having celebrities dance with professionals, they also have barangay groups pitted against each other on the dance floor.
