Jericho Rosales’ Interview on the Buzz: July 9, 2006

Jericho Rosales is getting a harsh beating over at PEx because of his “trying hard” use of English when he was interviewed by Boy Abunda about his altercation with John Estrada. One fan has trancribed the interview.

IMHO, it’s a lot of fuss over nothing. In my opinion, the interview itself has no vlaue. The “altercation” is nothing more than Echo over-reacting to the overacting of Heart Evangelista. I thiknk Heart might have “reported” that John did something rude or bastos towards her. And Echo over-reacted by confronting John.

nakoowwww…I was not able to watch his interview at The Buzz last Sunday. Yet, I was able to read Cristy Fermin’s article NAINTINDIHAN NIYO BA ANG PAG-INGLES NI JERICHO? dated July 11, 2006.

I read his answers one-by-one, and all of them didn’t made sense. All his answers are losing to a point.
Bara-bara na lang ang kinalabasan. We may not be able to figure out Jericho’s point but we understand he made himself nonsense that afternoon. Are we all viewers stupid para hindi makaintindi ng English ni Jericho Rosales?
He should be thankful kasi hindi naman ka-sosi-han ang karamihan ng nanood sa kanya pero what if may nanood na coño at nag-wo-work sa BPO industry? They will guffaw upon Jericho’s speech. Namaaaan!

BTW… here is my so-called “written reprimand” for Echo to be enlightened his flaws:

    ——————————————————————————————-

    Greetings!

Below is my response to Cristy Fermin’s article NAINTINDIHAN N’YO BA ANG INGLES
NI ECHO? dated July 11, 2006 and at the same time to express my gruesome criticism on Jericho Rosales
    (no offense meant).

I was not able to watch the interview of Boy Abunda with Jericho Rosales at The Buzz last Sunday, until I read Cristy Fermin’s article. It’s not I am making kampi on Cristy for what she wrote just because I hate Echo but to express the same feeling as I read the questions of Boy Abunda and Jericho Rosales’ answer one-by-one. Just like the audience, naloka ako sa sagot ni Echo—as he flaunts his ingles-inglesan attitude! Yes! I feel the ‘maangas’ presense of Echo as I read her column and at the same time his enunciation despite not being able to watch that segment.

Jericho Rosales, it is better to lessen your words as you answer or could you just speak at least Taglish (read: 80% Tagalog, 20% English)? Or, if you are being asked in pure Tagalog, answer in Tagalog. We may not be able to understand kung ano ang gusto mong tumbukin pero we understand that what you answered is one hell of a nonsense! We are not twerps para hindi makaintindi ng Ingles mo. Are you that moron for not being able to answer Boy Abunda straightforwardly? Should you wish not to reveal what Heart complained to you, kindly answer like this: “I’m sorry but this is a private matter and I wish NOT to put Heart’s image in peril” or same to that effect…as easy as that, hindi ‘yung pinagpipilitan mo pa na I’m sorry to John Estrada or so and so. You don’t have to make pa-arte of of your English because the more you look abhorable and made yourself ridiculous. Feeling mo naman titilian ka kasi Inglisero ka…come on! Mayabang ka na kasi feeling mo magaling kang actor and a singer, not knowing that your damn career is deteriorating. Forming a band? GOOD LUCK SA IYO!!! I guess you are now living in illusions my dear!

I guess I need not to list down every answers you muttered for Boy Abunda’s questions; however, after a thorough analysis of the entire article, I regret to give you some suggestion:

YOU HAVE TO ENROLL YOURSELF IN JOHN ROBERT POWERS OR EVEN TALK SHOP TO
ENHANCE YOUR ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS (PATI LISTENING SKILLS) AND PERSONALITY. OR GUSTO MO, SA CALL CENTER TRAINING PROGRAM?

Alright! Hindi ka nga mag-ko-call center but through this you will be able to learn on effective speaking and right delivery. Kahit saang School, you don’t need to have an American twang as long as you are understandable, then pati pitch mo ma-to-tone down. You may be vibrant and dynamic but please lower down your temper.

See? You are being lambasted spontaneously even if you struff yourself to us English-speaking asshole. Poor you!

Huwag ka nang magmalaki. Kung ano ang kino-comment naming sa iyo in different columns you have no choice but to ACCEPT , CONTEMPLATE AND LEARN!

Sa mga kinikilos na pino-project mo at issues about you, depicts na mayabang ka na nga!

You are far cry from what you are used to be before joining showbiz.

Marikeño ka? Bicolano ka? I regret to tell you that ikinahihiya kita as a kababayan.

    The moral is this:
IF YOU CONTINUE STUFFING LIKE AN ENGLISH-SPEAKING ASSHOLE AND LACKING SINCERITY FOR
EVERY ANSWER YOU MUTTER, IT’S BETTER NOT TO HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
YOU ARE JUST MAKING YOURSELF LAUGHING STOCK

To all Echo fans: No offense meant with this letter. Kung wise enough pa kayo, be observant for every action Echo projects
and for every English word he mutters. Don’t be closed-minded.

Thank You very much for letting me post this letter. I hope I make sense for what it is written here.

Also, I would like to acknowledge your just and balanced article written in you column. More Power and God Bless!

    Yours truly,

^^ i can only laugh at the irony of your response. firstly, you mentioned “not meaning offense” yet stated your “gruesome criticism” on echo.

secondly, before you throw insults on someone, make sure you don’t have the same “dirt.” i’m sorry but i don’t have the time to edit your grammatical mistakes here but you can email me if you want an edited version of your “litany.”

lastly, why are you so affected? were you a former fan? just curious.

i actually want to rebutt every point you made here but i lack the time. i’ll just leave you with this: how do you measure sincerity? is talent enough a gauge for a person to consider an actor a good one and therefore admire him for whatever acting skills he have? and it doesn’t follow that if you’re “sosyal” or well-conversed in English, you’re a good person. i’ll bet you’ll agree with me here.

    thank you!

  3. roxy_g said:

You don’t have to edit my grammatical mistakes, honey.
Kung may nasabi akong “mali”, sorry. I don’t mean to brag in here.

I ain’t affected, though…just to unleash my “pagkaloka” in Jericho Rosales’ English. And hindi ako fan niya, pero I admit that I admired him once…until I suddenly got turned off when there are certain issues thrown upon him.

I don’t say na masama siyang tao, just like what you said na hindi komo’t sosyal ka eh mabait ka.

Yun!

Hindi ako sosyal, sad to admit…me pagka-skwateric din ako. Of course, ibang level naman ako…

Thank You Very much for the advice anyway. At least I am enlightened now. I hope you won’t think I am trying sooo hard.

well..all i can say is that i was laughing to death when i was watching this interview. gosh. i used to admire Jericho..pero how can you admire someone whos being fake to the televiewers, and most especially his fans. now that just shows that his not a good person.. my point here is not about his baluktot ingles..dahil ako, i sometimes talk the same, but what i really am trying to say is that his a fake. how can you go up to someone and almost tried to have a feud with them, tapos after you would say its all your fault? then whats the point of going up to that person? to make a statement? well..i hope some of you get my point..and people..remember..this its only my, as in , my opinion..

thanks, …, nakakaloka naman talaga english ni echo, right.
now, his manner of english delivery is NOW THE TALK OF THE TOWN…and…BUTT OF JOKES?!?!?!

    just kidding…

PLASTIK, HINDI MO NAIINTINDIHAN ANG SCENARIONG TO EH…AT NAIINTINDIHAN MO BA ANG SINULAT KO?

MY POINT HERE IS YUNG PAG-IINGLES NI ECHO… OKEY SANA ANG GRAMMAR CONSTRUCTION NIYA KAYA LANG PINAPASLANG PA NIYA KAYA HINDI SIYA MAINTINDIHAN.
AT PAANO MONG NA-JA-JUSTIFY NA INGGIT KAMI KAY ECHO? ANO ANG DAPAT NAMING IKAINGGIT EH EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND PA LANG MAS ANGAT NA KAMI SA KANYA. NO BRAGGING INTENDED, BTW.

ALAM KO RIN ANG KABABAWAN NG PINOY IN TERMS OF MAKING COMMENTS ON OTHER’S GRAMMAR CONSTRUCTION. HINDI AKO GANOON. KASI MAS RERESPETUHIN KO PA ANG MGA STARLETS NA MALI-MALI ANG ENGLISH AT MINSAN NAKAKATAWA DAHIL MALI-MALI ANG INTERPRETATION PERO MAS NAIINTINDIHAN SILA. SA CASE NAMAN NI ECHO,PA-INGLES INGLES PA HINDI SIYA MAINTINDIHAN.

KAHIT ITANONG MO PA SA SISTER KO (NABASA NIYA KASI ANG ARTICLE NI CRISTY FERMIN REGARDING SA SEGMENT WITH BOY ABUNDA AND JERICHO ROSALES).
SINEMPLEHAN NA LANG SANA NI ECHO ANG PANANALITA NIYA PARA AT LEAST WALANG MAINIS SA KANYA KAHIT HINDI SIYA MAKA-GAIN NG SYMPATHY.
MASKI SISTER KO NALOKA SA ENGLISH NI ECHO. TAMA ANG CONSTRUCTION, OBLIVIOUS NAMAN ANG POINT NI ECHO….I HOPE YOU WON’T GET ME WRONG WITH IT.

“I will have to apologize to you because alam ko na naa-apreciate mo ang pagpunta ko dito and the
reason why I’m here is I know I have a responsibility.

“Responsibility ko sa actions ko, second sa tao, sa mga kaibigan ko, sa mga fans ko, sa iyo and sa
show n’yo. I wanna apologize for whatever actioins I did, especially to everyone who was there.

“Kay John, ‘coz I believe that is wasn’t the right place, it wasn’t the right time. Third, I apologize to you ‘coz I can’t go any further, I can’t go into details, because it’s very personal and private.”

“He was surprised to see us there, and then, he came in. And I thank God that there are people that
He made like Tito Gary. I apologized to him that day and I said I made a mistake.”

Ang sagot ni Echo: “Nope, That’s why I’m sorry. If I see you next time, you’d see the same face, I’m sorry.”

I just wanna clear, me and Heart, we’re very much open and I don’t wanna be mushy, okey? But we’re in love, but in a way that it’s not destructive, you know.

“I’m not a jealous guy, she’s not a jealous girl. I know wherever she goes, kasi lagi niyang sinasabi sa
    akin na, “Hey babe, ganyan-ganyan!”

“I was on the phone, kahit saan po ako sa mundo, nagte-text po kami at nag-uusap,” pahayag uli ni
    Jericho.

Ang mensahe niya kay Heart: “I love you forever and you’re the one I’ve been waiting for.”

    Magpapakasal na nga ba sila?

“It’s far, far, far pa! It’s there. It’s okay. It’s fine. The intensity is there, but I wanna show what intensity is pa. I wanna keep it burning and burning.” sabi uli ni Echo.

I’m very sorry sa kids mo. I respect your family and your kids and I’m deeply sorry for whatever actions I did”.

“I believe and I hope that one day, in God’s time, we will get to talk personally. I respect you too as a person, I was on my knees after that night.

“Kasi, it’s fixed na that day, eh. ‘Coz, I went to him na, eh! And thanks, thanks, thanks, for accepting my apology. I’d say I leave it up to God. I’ll go on with my life learning and you know, humble and respecting people,” panghuling mensahe ni Jericho Rosales.

Just like Dubai Rulez said, it’s really sad and funny at the same time to see 2 “medyo” professional women argue about non-sense issues. ( I’m a big fan of ECHO by the way but I could have gone without Heart Evangelista). I agree na sana sinimplify na lang ni Echo yung sagot nya ( I didn’t see the interview either but I read it, thanks to you Roxy G)but who cares?!! I understand that people want to hear what JR has to say but just accept what he gives. I just can’t believe that this is being blown out of proportion!! It shows that typical Filipinos could be really judgemental. You can’t just judge someone on his acting ability because he didn’t say the right words during his interview. I love Echo and I think just like anybody if you were put in the spot and were being asked questions you were not prepared to answer then I think you might end up giving the wrong idea. I think Echo did right by going up to John and trying to straighten out some issues but I admire him for apologizing at the same time. All I’m saying is…hindi nyo na problema kung yung English ni Echo ay baluktot. I agree 100% na sana tinagalog na lang nya, but I really think that he wasn’t ready to answer up to the questions. So, girls moral of the story….Get a grip of yourselves and get a life!!. Opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one but if it’s going to be negative, just keep it to yourself and keep your mouth shut! Sorry to say but we’re all the same. We worry about little things that doesn’t affect our everyday lives but we are all here reading this comments so don’t say na mas angat ka kesa sa kanya or sa akin dahil you don’t know me personally.
To Echo…just keep on doing what you’re doing and don’t mind the tsismosa.

Oh well, I hope you have a better life than this!!. Good Luck sayo.

Chika, please let me reply to LAGirl

@LAGirl, sorry if you misinterpreted my statement. My reply was supposed to be to Hilary for weeks ago.
Ang nakakainis, I gave Echo some statements, then umepal si Hilary, then doon nag-start ang fight namin and 5-days war. Unfortunately, her post was already deleted but my ‘counterattack’ was not yet deleted. Not only she called me names, she hit me below the belt that is absolutely OUT OF THE TOPIC AND DARN FOUL. Sino rin ang hindi mapapamura nun.
Ikaw kaya murahin ka ng below-the-belt, what will you feel?

Anyway, thank you for the advice. I never meant to throw some expletives that usually come out unjust.
I give lambastments to those who mutter nonsensical and namecallings.
