The judges:
RYAN CAYABYAB - stern, but not in a Simon Cowell-wannabe kind of way; he appreciates talent when he sees it; keeps his comments to a minimum
PILITA CORRALES - occassionally irritating, but generally good; does not try be to sweet; sincere
FRANCIS MAGALONA - refreshing; nice but not too nice
The host:
RYAN AGONCILLO - ok but not remarkable
Those who got in:
Ira Marasigan - formerly sang in Kuala Lumpur and other foreign cities; sang Route beautifully; a very, very strong contender
Benjamin Cruz - dressed as a cowboy; has an ok singing talent; will probably not get into the final 12
Cherry Ann Chiu - sang Ispageti; talented and gutsy; will get into the final 12
Paula Patricia Chavez - was shot a few years back; sang a Jackson Five song; very good voice quality; her experience in performing is apparent
Freddie Cabael Jr - half-black; sang Gary V’s Shout for Joy; not very original but very talented
Jeffrey Santos - played a trumpet and sang Sugod mga Kapatid while entering the audition room; weird but ok; will not get into the Final 12 with his “talents” alone
Rowell Quizon - grandson of the Dolphy; did not disappoint but will not make it far in the competition but will have a career because he has a dash of talent and a whole lot of QUIZON in him
Erika Jill Bautista - slighty hearing impaired; has a stage mother; very talented; will get a lot of votes because of her talent and her condition
Michelle Belmonte - came with her Austrian boyfriend; she’s ok but has to show more to be able to get into the final 12
Lalaine Enriquez - sang babae po ako and can burp the alphabet; entertaining
John Jerrico Perez - taught the judges and Ryan how to dance the Hula; sang Josh Groban’s Broken Vow; great singing voice and great personality
Marcello Angelo Stroem - half-Caucasian; sang Anak which won him a lot of points; will probably get a lot of votes from the female population if not booted out after the second round
Jellica Marie Mateo - pretty… very pretty; looks a bit like Miriam Quiambao; lounge singer and part-time host and model; sang a song by Ray Charles; reminds me of Ayla Brown but much more perky; might get into the final 12 if she makes good song choices
Jhonalene Sison - came in an all-green attire and a green wig; sings Anime/Japanese songs with her band; sang the Voltes 5 theme; great talent and personality but might lose due to her “unconvetional” style
All in all, the show was not disappointing but not excellent either. I will definitely watch again next week.

sayang wala dito sa USA yan..pero napanood ko ung pilot sa youtube..i like the judges..walang trying hard na Simon sa kanila..and that Ira girl..shes soo good..i think shell make it..all the way

I just hope Filipinos would listen to the talents of the finalists rather than just blindly vote for their “idol”.

eh sino pa bang idol material dyan eh di si erika. kahit na hearing impaired, kayang makipag sabayan sa mga normal hearing contestants. hindi nawawalan ng loob sa kanyang kapansanan. inspiration! idol!

cebu audition is not nice edited..perhaps their are better auditioners that are not shown and its not as nice as the premier…u can see some in this link above

nakakainis manood ng idol mga naiiwan mga di magagaling. mau lang magaling at c pow. yung jeli baka maubos ang kabuhayan nya para manalo. lagi namang flat o sharp! tinatanggal yung mga magagaling. sayang lang gastos lang sinusuka naman ng tao boses nya. mau pow magaling kayo! keep it up!
