More and repeated cheating will lead to the non-inclusion of Erika Jill Bautista in ALL polls.

I admit I do not know much of the technical side of running this blog that’s why it took me a long time to solve the problem. Now each voter has to register before they can vote to avoid double voting.

And sa mga fans na inosente, sorry. And kung ayaw niyo madamay sa sama ng ugali ng mga kapwa niyo fans… dissociate your selves from them.

Please let us know the exact rules of voting, so we can tell the fans club of erika the way to vote. Please post the strict rules on the front page of this site. Not everybody reads everything in here nor would most “masa” filipinos are “at home” with the english language. But we have honest count on how many members we now have at erika’s fans club. Thank you for the attention and we look forward to your immediate response. May we also request, that you take out that posting of “blatant cheating” because i’m pretty sure they didnt mean to cheat. Besides, this is just a simple survey, not the contest itself. We apologize to our idol, erika, too, because she is such a wonderful person and we dont want to hurt her winning…nor her impeccable reputation. Thank you. Now you’re talking! Please post that in BOLD letters where everyone will see. I am an american, the Philipines bought the franchise from out here, and when we, americans, open voting poll like this, we make clear-cut step by step process on how to (use the computer), what’s the legitimate vote, and what wont be accepted. But even if we can do all these, still - to err is human. Not everybody will be able to follow. But that doesnt mean “cheating”…they just didnt know that it was PER IP address or whatever…they dont even know and understand what IP is?! Most fans of “would-be” showbiz celebrities are not so computer literate, just like me. So, this could be a great lesson for sites like yours, that in order that this Polls will turn in an honest count, please try one step further - by educating your targetted respondents as to how it goes (rules maybe translated in different languages?, coz i understand you have a lot of dialects there? and isnt it a national or global survey you wanna do?) And we register our names & email addresses which expands your mailing list with which you can do millions of other business with. And so, to attract as much and sustain your visitors to keep coming back to your site, i’m sure you know what to do professionally. The American Idol format is - - - (known all over the world now for years) - - - one can vote for his/her idol as many times as one has time & money to text/call in heir votes. That’s American Idol culture!!! So the fans now thought they can vote as many times as permitted by their schedules and number of computers. Whatever angle you wanna see it, you owe the general public CLEAR CUT RULES & STEPS!!! NO ONE WANTS TO CHEAT ! NOT IN A SIMPLE SURVEY!!!!!!!!

I am surprised to see the vote of Erika Jill down to 22 % from 75 % this morning.
I am even more surprised to see blatant cheating. I CAST MY VOTE FOR ERIKA JILL, I DID NOT CHEAT.
The American Idol allows you to vote as many times as your money can provide, thats what I did, I voted as many times as the number of computers I have in the house.
I checked this site, I agree there is no clear indicator as to the voting rules. WE THE FANS OF ERIKA JILL ARE NOT CHEATERS. We will prove that in the text voting….. we are ready to spend good money so that people who are “impaired” will find hope in the person like ERIKA JILL. That they too can find support from people like us. We believe that the impaired should also be given the chance to show their talent.

I voted twice because I was so excited, not because I wanted to cheat. If I wanted to cheat I would have voted a hundred, a thousnd, a million times Also, because I was allowed to. There should have been an expressed rule or a program function that disallowed voting more than once from the same IP address. That’s simple enough to do.
Now may I know if both of my votes have been discounted? I want to know if I have to vote again or have you already counted my 1 vote? Please reply because you are not allowing me to log in or register anymore.

Chikadora FAILED TO PROVIDE A SYSTEM AGAINST DOUBLE VOTING that is why it is throwing the blame on the fans of Erika Jill by using the word “BLANTANT CHEATING.”
If the system allows double voting it means it is allowed. Now that you dont allow it, then it is not allowed. ONLY NOW, not at the time we cast our honest votes.
I will ask the million fans of ERIKA JILL BAUTISTA to boycott this site if chikadora will not delete that posting regarding blatant cheating.

I have more thoughts on this subject of “cheating”! It would appear that you must have checked the IP addresses of voters in order to attempt to verify the “fairness” of the votes!.
If this is so, what about households that have many members that would want to vote for the same “idol”?? Would it be cheating if a family of 8 persons all wanted to vote for the same “idol” from the single “family computer”? The same would also apply to an office full of employees, but with only one or two computers.
I am campaigning for Erika because I am President of Touching Lives, Inc. a registered non-profit USA corporation that primarily raises money to help the underprivelged of the Philippines, especially the “deaf”. I have many friends that voted in this “survey”. They have only one computer in their offices or their homes, yet the whole family loves Erika and voted for her! Have you discounted their votes because they came for the same computer? Each person who voted is a legitimate “single person vote”! Not all people, even in America can afford a computer!
You really NEED TO RESTORE HER VOTES! Erika is a talented singer and deserves the recognition. We here in America really do believe she is the best of the best!
I subscribe to “The Fiilippino Channel” here in America and am now thinking about canceling my subscription, as I am sure many others may be considering doing the same!
I don’t like your comment about “blatant cheating”……you have no proof and are tarnishing Erika’s Reputation, which in the end may affect the outcome of Philippine Idol. I assure you that if you do not remove that comment from this web-site and restore Erika’s votes…..I will cancel my subscription and tell everyone I know what you have done.
Here in America and I’m sure also in the Philippines, we are innocent until PROVEN guilty. I also realize that “ignorance of the law is no exuse”……but that law must be written in the law records in order for this to be a true statement. Again I reiterate, “where are the rules written?

it came as a surprise to have read this comment…i would say i am a fan and friend of Erika and her family having known her since she was in grade school. I even told deaf students and friends of mine here and abroad to vote as many times as they could because that’s the only rule I know…basing on American Idol rules. isn’t that one of the reasons why Jasmin Trias edged the other contestants? I have to say that there was no cheating and her family will never resort to that. And I, myself, will not. That’s too harsh a comment to spread in the web. Think just what other readers might conclude…a hearing impaired person will resort to cheating just to win? She followed contest rules…just to be where she is right now…she withstood the heat and the long queue just to get a slot for the audition just like the thousands of Filipino aspirants. So maybe the organizers and you guys could make it clear in public the voting rules. And I really think a public apology is necessary.

No, I won’t apologize. I own this blog and I am entitled to say anything I want. You have no idea how much cheating went on in the past polls here in my site. I am speaking from experience and I am not merely throwing random accusations at anyone, nor was I implying that Erika was cheating in Philippine Idol ( I mean, how can anyone cheat that one??). My admin recently upgraded the site voting software so from now on the polls will be cleaner. You are now required to register before you can participate in the voting. So again, behave! If you can’t, get lost!

CHEATING!!! her frends and her mom told them to vote for her..(her mom s principle and director of Philippine Institute For The Deaf), mom’s frend tell them again to other school. To campaign for a person is definitely not cheating. I have seen Ericka Jill performed and she’s really good. My mother , sister and two nieces who saw her perfomance all agree with me but they can’t vote simply because we use the same computer. I have known Ericka Jill since in her early teens when we would ask her to sing in special events of our club for free. Many people know her for her generous heart. She has definitely improved a lot and I will ask my friends who have seen her in Phil Idol that this poll exists and that they vote for her. That is not cheating.

THE OWNER OF CHIKADORA ADMITTED it is CHIKADORA’S FAULT. CHIKADORA acknowledged that double voting happened in the PAST POLLS, it is only now that she realized she will not allow double voting and gave instruction to her ADMIN to adjust the system.
THE QUESTION IS .. why is chikadora changing the system only now, after she saw that Erika Jill is leading? Does Chikadora has her own bet in this poll who is rating poorly?
My friends did not bother to go back to chikadora site after learning how disorganized the poll is being run. If there is any victim here of cheating, it is us, we who fell into the bait of visiting this site and casting our vote .

thank you for updating the system. as owner of a blog conducting polls, you should know that another key success factor is neutrality. now that you have established that the system was incorrect and appropriately revised it, then please, if you are to continue conducting this poll or any other poll for that matter, be extremely neutral or non-judgmental. voters will vote any way they are allowed to vote and it is only our systems that we can control. to be judged as cheaters is really insulting. that is what people were reacting to. i suggest you remove your accusation of blatant cheating.

I wont be surprised, if soon, this site dies naturally. Credibility is very important in this ever evolving competitive world, coupled with sincere service to the general public (which most sponsors aims to spend for). Pride & Arrogance is the devil’s traits. I had to ask the Filipinos who work in my own construction company here to translate in english what your rebuttal on top is all about. From all the comments now posted about this, i sense a CEO, a deaf student, a special education teacher, an accountant, a revenue tax officer, a Banker, a housewife, and a foreigner etc (microcosm of society). I have been following Chicadora’s posting through rss for last few days. I am studying the way Filipino websites are tagging their contents. I ran into this post and it had caught my attention.
owning a site does not give you the right to speak to your patrons this way. It is totally irresponsible to post such accusations when it is very clear that the system is at fault.
I will be completely surprise if your patrons stay here and listen to you talk to them in this manner.
Don’t even bother responding to this. I will not waste my time reading another article coming from your site.

i am appalled by your unprofessionalism. you started a poll with rules on voting but, you did not set up the voting system in such a way that “blatant” cheating can be outright avoided. just lower your pride and admit that you made a mistake. YOU ARE NOT EVEN ASSOCIATED WITH PHILIPPINE IDOL.
you have to watch what you say because young kids can access your site and you’re displaying inappropriate words.

chikadora’s first hand experience with her past polls does not give her the right to make such harsh accusations. without proper rules and regulations, anyone who visits this site and happens to be terribly excited to vote would do so more than once. cheating could only be done when the rules have been BROKEN DELIBERATELY. now how could that have happened when the rules weren’t even posted in the first place?
haven been given the right to free speech doesn’t mean one should abuse it. chikadora doesn’t seem to know that. calling anyone a cheater without looking into the issue further would be abusive of that right. who died and made her God anyway?!?
