It’s final. GMA’s Bakekang will start showing on Monday, September 11 with Sunshine Dizon playing the main character. Bakekang is a remake of a movie which starred Nora Aunor. Both the upcoming show and the movie are based on the comics of the same title by Carlo J. Caparas. Caparas will act as a consultant for the show. The character of Bakekang is an ugly ambitious girl who gets impregnated by an American. She then gives birth to a beautiful girl who will become a famous singer.
Bakekang will also feature Sheryl Cruz as Valeria, Yasmien Kurdi as Charming, Nadine Samonte as Lorraine, Lovi Poe as Crystal and Marky Cielo as Dennis.

chika, i have seen the trailer of bakekang.
sunshine dizon is really fugly…heheheh…but of course, her acting is very good just like what she did in encantadia, ikaw lang ang mamahalin etc…
she is really effective, and i am impressed dahil puro bigatin ang mga artistang anjan…

as an actress, sunshine dizon will give this character more than a 3-dimensional-larger-than-life depth. i cannot think of anyone else who can play this role well. minus the hype (unlike kris - whom i think (my opinion) cannot act), i expect only the best from this series (as in the case of atlantika).

girlie, we think it ain’t considered monopoly. kasi sino sa tingin mo ang babagay sa bakekang? eh sobrang bigat nung role na iyon. baka kahit si iza calzado at angel locsin hindi kayanin ang role na bakekang. not even diana zubiri nor alessandra de rossi.
hindi naman sa lagi na lang siya sa teleserye ng gma. despite some issues about her being pasaway, nagagampanan naman niya ang bawat role na mabuti — protagonist man or antagonist. and since may experience na si sunshine sa pagganap noon therefore magagampanan niya ang role na iyon ng mabuti—lalo na dalawa ang character ni bakekang

sunshine’s a good actor. no doubt about it. pero ang catch, kaya ba niyang dalhin ang buong show. oo, kumita ang ENCANTADIA, pero hindi iyon dahil kay sunshine (equal parts sila nina Diana, Karylle at Iza) or kumikita rin ang CAPTAIN BARBELL but then again, si Richard ang nagdadala ng buong show… as far as i could remember, makailan beses na ring nagkaroon ng soap si Sunshine (as in siya talaga ang bida — mga dalawa o higit pa) pero hindi ito kumita as expected.

I don’t think credits should be wholly given to Sunshine, ppl are actually interested to see Sheryl Cruz being in a new role of villainess. Sheryl for me should’ve been the Bakekang, mas crowd drawer sya kaysa kay Sunshine na wala namang ibang achievements kundi ang maging Pirena, yun lang!!!!
