Starstruck 4 auditions already started last September 3, in key cities nationwide. The tv show is set to be aired on November. A lot of fans are disappointed because there are still a lot of Starstruck products whose careers seem to be on a standstill. On the other hand, in my opinion, bringing in a new set of fresh talents which will stiffen the competition, will be in line with the show’s tagline of Dream, Believe, Survive.
There are only a few Starstruck products who have already made it in show business, they have SURVIVED. Among them are Batch 1 survivors Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Yasmien Kurdi, Rainier Castillo and avenger Katrina Halili. Unfortunately for batch 2, none of them has really shined. But my top pick for longevity from batch is LJ Reyes. And from among the Batch 3 survivors, only Sole Survivor Marky Cielo is the really active one. Iwa Moto also has a solid presence. Ultimate Female Survivor Jackie Rice has been proven unworthy of her title, and Gian Carlo is doing so-so. Meanwhile, avengers Chuck Allie and Jana Roxas are doing quite good.
The real question, I think is whether or not past Starstruck products are ready for the competition. I think, the real questions we should as are whether or not the masses are ready to fall in love with another dreamer? And is there a dreamer out there who is not only talented and good-looking, but also charismatic and hard-working?
Dingdong Dantes, Jolina Magdangal and Raymond Gutierrez will host the show. And Director Luoie Ignacio will be at the helm. This early fans are also protesting the participation of Raymond, and more so, of Direk Louie.
Reports also have it that the show will be re-formatted to a certain extent. I think it’s a good move considering it’s already on its fourth season.
So this November, lets watch as another batch of dreamers continue to believe so they can survive.

@davemark, thank you for supporting Starstruck coz I believe that this show still has legs for they were able to lead themselves to season 4. Unfortunately, you don’t have to utter expletives against Pinoy Dream Academy eventhough I am also pissed off with this show. Mukhang ibinababa lang natin ang mga sarili natin sa mga rabid na Kapamilya (sorry, I ain’t generalizing you all).
Anyway, what I like in Starstruck is that they didn’t made their theme misleading and they are egalitarian in terms of race, ethnicities and looks.
They focus more on talent above looks than their counterparts

chakamotto, let say that starstruck 4 can be nakakasawa. however, how can they go this far kung sawa na ang tao (mean, they’ve reached starstruck 4).
besides, ano naman ang laban ng pinoy big brother and pinoy dream academy? they are reality shows that have both misleading concepts and themes. saka hindi pa natin nakikita ang bagong starstruck 4 sasabihing paulit-ulit. we have heard nga na ire-reformat nga ito eh. of course hindi nila gagayahin ang format ng latter said shows kasi they stick to originality of concept.
thought i like philippine idol, iba naman ang format naman nito sa starstruck kasi pure singing and personality ang laban dito samantalang sa starstruck wide range at mas bata ang maglalaban-laban. pinoy dream academy ni hindi mo malaman kung talent search or “pinoy big brother” eh.
