Loosely based on popular Japanese series Shaider, GMA 7 launches today Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan starring Dennis Trillo, Marky Cielo, and Aljur Abrenica. The series is directed by Dominic Zapata.
Donsol, Adolf Alix Jr.’s multi-awarded film produced by Bicycle Pictures, has been selected by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) to represent the country in its bid for an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was chosen over two other independent movies, Foster Child and Inang Yaya.
It’s finally confirmed, the Philippine Idol franchise is now with GMA 7. ABC 5’s staging of the tilt last year was a mild hit, producing talents like winner Mau Marcelo, and finalists Gian Magdangal, and Jan Nieto. This time, with GMA 7 at the helm, the show and its finalists will probably gain more popularity via GMA 7’s machinery.

Here’s the pilot episode of the new ABS-CBN Teleserye Pangarap na Bituin featuring Rica Peralejo, Sarah Geronimo, and Maja Salvador as the Jewel Sisters, and Jericho Rosales as Terrence. Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong also appear as the parents of the Jewel Sisters. Other cast members are Joel Torre, Rio Locsin, Cherry Pie Picache, Bembol Roco, Jay-R Siaboc, and Cathy Gonzaga.
