I never, ever cry while watching a movie (coz I’m astig). No, really, I never do not even when Leo died when the Titanic sank. But Caregiver almost made me cry. I’m a Sharon Cuneta fan. I do not idolize her as a person (maybe I should) but I watch most of her movies and enjoy them a lot.
Caregiver shows a different kind of role portrayal for Sharon. The story is quite straightforward, and the acting does not require hysterics, pero damang-dama ko. I was really able to feel what Sarah (Sharon’s character) was going through and feeling.
John Estrada as Teddy was also very effective. He is a good actor. He was annoying and stupid as he should be. Rica Peralejo and Lotlot de Leon were also good. Anita Linda made my heart bleed. Most of the Filipino cast members did wonderfully.
The British actors, uhmmm… no comment.
The movie doesn’t really present anything new in terms of plot or acting. But the execution, the lines, the facial expressions, the beauty of the movie is in the details. It was heartfelt.
And how could it not be? It’s a Chito Roño film.
WATCH IT!
