Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that the Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez is taking boxing lessons for her role in GMA 7’s upcoming television series, Totoy Bato. Regine would be playing the role of a singer on the said television series, which is her third onscreen team-up with Robin Padilla. There would be numerous action scenes in the said series hence the need to take boxing lessons.
“Hindi, kasi hindi ako…hindi naman ako nasaktan. Yun nga yung weird, e. To think that I’m not really athletic, pero I was able to do it na hindi naman sumakit yung katawan ko,” said Regine in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal.
Aside from attending her boxing lessons in Fight Club, Regine acknowledge that Dr. Vicki Belo also helped her in losing weight.
“Belo also helped me, si Dra. Vicki Belo. Kasi madami siyang machine ngayon na pinaplantsa-plantsa lang ang mga jubisey [taba], nawawala, natutunaw. Ang liit kaya ng arms ko ngayon, lumiit siya ng bonggang-bongga,” she added.
The upcoming television series is set to premiere on February 23, 2009, weeknights on GMA 7’s Telebabad.
