World Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao apologized to the public Saturday evening on the confusion caused by his decision of transferring from Solar Sports (Solar Entertainment Corporation) to ABS-CBN. Pacquaio clarified that his May 2nd fight with Ricky Hatton would be still be seen on GMA-7, as Solar Sports remains the boxer’s media partner. Solar Sports and GMA-7 are on a block-time agreement granting the latter’s rights to air Pacquiao’s fight.

The Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Solar Sports have settled the issue regarding the airing of the boxer’s upcoming fights.

“Ang inyo pong lingkod, si Manny Pacquiao, ay nais iparating sa lahat na matapos ang masusing pag-aaral at pagtimbang-timbang namin ng Solar Entertainment Corporation napatunayan na ang kontrata tungkol sa TV Rights ng aking mga laban ay valid and binding at Hindi nilabag nino man.

“Dahil po dito ay taos puso akong humihingi ng paumanhin kung kayo man ay naguluhan kung saan ipapalabas ang aking darating na laban Kay Ricky Hatton. Ito po ay resulta lang ng Hindi pagkaka-intindihan sa pagitan ng Solar Entertainment Corporation at MP Promotions. Sana ay maunawaan ng lahat. Simula sa araw na ito ay nais kong mag-concentrate nang husto na lang sa aking training para sa aking darating na laban ngayong Mayo 2,” said Pacquiao in a written statement read by his lawyer, Atty. Franklin Gacal.

ABS-CBN respected Pacquiao’s decision.

After his short break in doing television series, Richard Gutierrez is now back in primetime television. The Philippine version of “Zorro” will premiere on GMA-7’s Telebabad this Monday, March 23, 2009. Richard Gutierrez and Rhian Ramos are on the lead roles. This would be the second time that the two will work together in a television series.

BB Gandanghari

The POC Presents: BB Gandanghari, a meet and greet event held last Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Mag: Net Cafe (Bonifacio High Street) was well attended by bloggers from different niches and ages. Bloggers had a chance to ask BB several questions.

In the said event, BB Gandanghari said that she’s very comfortable with herself and her body. She also added that she doesn’t want to tamper with her physical being.

“I am a woman regardless of what I see in my physical image,” BB Gandanghari said.

BB literally laughed out loud when asked about her lovelife. “Wala pa [pero] looking forward. … I hope one day may dumating,” she answered.

“The foundation of BB is basically Rustom,” answered BB when asked about their similarities with Rustom Padilla. She also compared her transformation with the “Adam & Eve” story. “Saan ba nanggaling si BB? Sa tadyang ni Rustom,” she added. BB also said that she learned from Rustom.

Heart Evangelista was able to regain her star after the success of her fantaserye Luna Mystica with another comeback actor Mark Anthony Fernandez. The show was able to retain its spot on the ratings game.

Just last month, Dennis Trillo announced that his next project is an afternoon drama show opposite Heart Evangelista. A lot of Kapuso viewers were looking forward to the tandem, but due to Annabelle Rama’s intervention, the offer was rejected and the role was later on given to Nadine Samonte.

After rejecting the drama project, a lot of fans are wondering on what will happen to Heart Evangelista? Her manager reportedly threatened the network that she will pull out her talents if Heart Evangelista and JC De Vera won’t be given a primetime soap opera. The parents of Heart Evangelista went straight to Atty. Felipe Gozon and apologized.

Vic Sotto confirmed the death of co-host Francis Magalona on their noontime TV show, Eat Bulaga. Fans and supporters can have a last glimpse of his remains at the Christ the King Chapel in Greenmeadows, Quezon City. His wife, Pia Arroyo announced on GMA Network’s primetime news program, 24 Oras the schedule of her husband’s wake. The public viewing of the rapper’s remains will start tomorrow, March 7, 2009 until Tuesday, March 10 from 6am to 6pm. Furthermore, Pia encouraged everyone to send in cash or blood donations to the Philippine National Red Cross instead of sending in flowers and Mass cards.

Francis Magalona is also known as the “King of Pinoy Rap”. It was in August 2008 that he was diagnosed with leukemia and appealed for privacy saying that he doesn’t want a “media circus”.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the late Francis Magalona.

Claudine Barretto dubbed as the “Optimum Teleserye Queen” is back on the primetime scene as she joins the cast of ABS-CBN’s top rating television series “May Bukas Pa”. This would be the Optimum Teleserye Queen’s comeback after her break from doing primetime shows. Her last television series with ABS-CBN was “Iisa Pa Lamang”.

For months, there have been talks about the alleged break-up of Jomari Yllana and Pops Fernandez but the two kept mum about the issue. In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal via phone patch last Mar. 2, 2009, Jomari Yllana admitted that it’s been two weeks that they haven’t talk with each other since their break-up.

The Manila Auditions for Pinoy Big Brother Season 3 and Teen Edition 3 last February 27, 2009 were canceled due to the unexpected number of people who flocked to the PDA Concert Hall. There were about 10,000 housemate wannabes who gathered along the streets leading to the audition venue new reports said.

But fret no more PBB Housemate wannabes for the PBB management made a new system to make the audition process safer and convenient for everyone.

That must be the motto of Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa aking tadyang star Marian Rivera after the accidental nip slip at SOP weeks ago while she is performing a song and dance number.

After the “pagmamaldita” video taken from Dyesebel and “pagtatataray” video with a make-up artist, it seems like the teleserye princess is facing yet another controversial video much to the delight of her detractors.
