A teleserye featuring the Diamond Star, Ms. Maricel Soriano. Her character is torn between two loves played by Jay Manalo and John Estrada. Assunta da Rossi also stars in this teleserye as John Estrada’s other woman. The shows cast also includes Angelica Panganiba, Jason Abalos, AJ Dee, Michelle Madrigal and Joseph Bitangcol.

Panday

The TV reincarnation of the movie series which immortalized Fernando Poe Jr. Jericho Rosales stars as Panday with Heart Evangelista as his love interest, Eden. Philip Salvador returns to the limelight as Panday’s mentor.

Nagmamahal, Kapamilya

Little is known about this upcoming show. It’s probably another public service show just like Wish Ko Lang and Willingly Yours.

Stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, Luis “Lucky” Manzano and Anne Curtis, and Jason Abalos and Angelica Panganiban. It’s another trilogy of mini-romance movies that Star Cinema is so fond of. Jerry Lopez-Sineneng, Don Cuaresma and Bb. Joyce Bernal each direct one episode.

This was supposed to be Star Cinema’s ammunition against GMA 7′s Lovestruck. But somehow, it got waylaid and is now showing at a later date.

Months ago, a showdown between Star Cinema’s Dreamboy and GMA Films’ Let the Love Begin occured. In that round, GMA Films brought in the money and the win. Apparently, GMA Films’ strategy of bringing together two love teams was able to draw in larger crowds. Alangan naman, combine the fan base of Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras plus Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez. Siyempre mas marami yun than the combined fans of just Bea Alonzo and Piolo Pascual.

So now, Star Cinema is fighting fire with fire.

This September, GMA Films is coming out with Lovestruck starring Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Yasmien Kurdy, Rainier Castillo, Mike Tan, Ryza Cenon, CJ Muere, and LJ Reyes, and a bunch of other young stars. They are all cast in a single story of confusing love triangles among young people. Napaka-unique ng idea, right?

Similarly, this September, Star Cinema is releasing All About Love, a trilogy of three separate love stories. One episode stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. Another one stars Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano. The third episode stars Angelica Panganiban and Jason Abalos (SCQ2 Finalist).

Hmmm… Whatcho think??? Sino kaya mananalo sa round na ito???

Vietnam Rose is ABS-CBN‘s newest primetime innovation. It is a teleserye which is said to be in the genre of “magic realism.” Talaga lang ha? I’ll look forward to it.

The teleserye stars Maricel Soriano, John Estrada, Jay Manalo, Angelica Panganiban, Jason Abalos and Michelle Madrigal, among others.

The pilot episode will be aired on September 19, 2005.
